Marketing Strategy The marketing strategy consulting process involves a thorough audit of external and internal factors affecting companies. The external audit includes a review of the PEST factors, or Political, Economic, Social, and Technical factors affecting the business. In addition, the external audit includes a review of the competitive environment, drivers of customer satisfaction, customer trends, market research and other relevant external factors. The internal audit includes a review of the company’s history, previous business performance (sales, margins, profitability), available resources, core competencies, organisational capabilities. On the basis of the audit, a SWOT analysis is prepared and marketing strategies and tactics are formulated accordingly. Marketing strategies are developed using the Brand Architecture model.
