ESS Problem Solving and Decision Making (Supervisory)

What’s in it for my organization?
This Problem Solving and Decision Making module focuses on honing the supervisor's skills in effectively sizing up, analyzing and taking action on a workplace problem. Emphasis is also placed on how the supervisor leads the team to develop effective and responsible problem solving and decision making behaviors..

This module will equip the participant with the skills and knowledge to effectively size up, analyze and take action on a problem. Emphasis will be placed on the participant’s role as supervisor in leading the team towards organizational objectives.

What will I experience in this learning journey?
This module covers the following:
• Anticipate and Identify Problems
Detect a likely problem
Verify information surrounding the perceived problem and arrive at the exact problem
• Generate and Evaluate Alternative Solutions to a Problem
Facilitate generation of ideas to solve a problem
Evaluate the value and impact of selected ideas
• Make a Decision and Take Responsibility for It
Decide on and implement a preferred solution
Evaluate the implemented solution and, where necessary, execute modification(s) for a permanent solution

Upon successful completion of the course, the participant will obtain a Statement of Attainment from the Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA)

Who would benefit from this learning experience?
This module is targeted at any individual who has reports. He/she has some responsibility for formulating goals and policies of an organization, and/or administering its policies and programs.
