||||||||||||||||||
On 30 October 2007, OTi Consulting Pte Ltd received the Special Recognition Award at SCORE Awards Presentation Cum Employers Network 2007 for our work with Changi Women's Prison under Project Superhero. OTi Consulting CEO Helen Lim-Yang received the award from Dr Loo Choon Hoy, Nominated Member of Parliament & Chairman, National Council Against Drug Abuse (NCADA). Project Superhero is an OTi initiative as part our 25th Anniversary celebrations and focuses on conducting employability skills and personal development workshops for an estimated 250 participants from four beneficiaries: Singapore Corporation of Rehabilitative Enterprises (SCORE), Teen Challenge, Andrew & Grace Home, and The Helping Hand. To date, we have conducted 6 “Achieving Personal Effectiveness” workshops for 120 pre-releasees at Changi Women’s Prison. Every staff at OTi has been involved in Project Superhero. In touching the lives of our beneficiaries, our own lives have been touched as well. OTi IT Analyst Gordon sums it up well: “When we first started Project Superhero, we were looking to serve the community as a way of celebrating our 25th anniversary. However, once we started running the workshops, we began to bond with the participants and our passion to help them really burst forth. We were no longer just doing community work, but helping newfound friends gain useful skills they can apply in future.”
OTi will continue with Project Superhero beyond 2007. If you would like to partner us in any way, please contact Hui Ling at boo_huiling@oticonsulting.com.

New Certification Scheme for Management Consultants A new scheme will be launched next year to certify management consultants. The Practicing Management Consultants (PMC) Scheme will be managed by the Institute of Management Consultants (IMC) Singapore. This was announced by Mr Raymond Lim, Minister for Transport and Second Minister for Foreign Affairs at the Business Excellence Awards 2007 gala dinner on 9 October 2007. IMC is introducing the certification scheme in response to feedback from small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and business associations that the quality of consultants tends to vary and they have difficulty identifying qualified and competent management consultant. Mr Khoo Oon Theam, Founder & Executive Chairman, OTi Consulting Pte Ltd, said, “The PMC certification will give our clients the assurance that the consultants they engage are competent and reliable. The confidence that our clients have in us would help us build better working relationships with them, and facilitate the consultancy process and effective implementation of the projects we undertake for them. Ultimately, their success will help us to secure more consultancy projects.” For the full article, check out http://www.spring.gov.sg/Content/ModulePage.aspx?group=nw&id=358afd7d-70b0-4628-892d-846810d902cf |
