Kopitiam, NTUC and OTi Partner Under Job Re-Creation Programme (JRP) Initiative

In an unprecedented move, Kopitiam Investments Pte Ltd, the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) and OTi Consulting partnered to train 15 Kopitiam Team Leaders as Mentors. The mentoring program, one of NTUC’s many Job Re-creation Programme (JRP) initiatives, included the training of the Team Leaders in the Communication and Relationship Management (Supervisory Level, Bilingual) and Coaching for High Quality Performance (Mandarin) programs.

The Team Leaders graduated with a big bang on 11 May'07 (Friday) as they each received a Certificate of Award - For Being a Certified Mentor. It was an occasion, not only to celebrate the trainees' success in course completion, but to highlight the importance of their new roles as Mentors to their colleagues. The graduation ceremony was also attended by 6 other up-and-coming Mentors. These new Mentors will be receiving their training at OTi Consulting in Jun'07.

The workshops also enabled the Team Leaders to revisit Kopitiam's vision and their role in the organization. Enthusiasm in their job was reinforced and lifelong learning/continual upgrading in life was re-emphasized. Participants found the workshops practical and useful for application in their workplace. Many also shared that they were inspired to be better leaders at work, and in their personal lives.
